Dorothy Glandon, 80, of Petrolia, Texas, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013 in Wichita Falls, TX.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Petrolia, Texas with Rev. Al Easterling officiating. Burial will be in Petrolia Cemetery in Petrolia, Texas under the direction of Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta, Texas.
Mrs. Glandon was born on February 11, 1932 in Drum Wright, Oklahoma to Harry and Lorene (Greer) Elam. She married Ralph Eugene Elam on June 15, 1968 in Wilson Oklahoma. She was the Director of the Petrolia Senior Citizens and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Petrolia where she sang in the church choir and taught Sunday school. Mrs. Glandon was very active in her church as well as her community. From 1981 to 1994 she was the Outstanding Female Citizen which was awarded by the Clay County Chamber of Commerce.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ralph E. Glandon; two sons Bobby Forbes and Mike Glandon.
Mrs. Glandon is survived by two sons Mark Glandon and wife Nancy of Richardson, TX, James Forbess and wife Ulanda of Sanger,TX; two daughters, Karen Poirot and husband Tom of Wichita Falls, Texas and Linda Wolf of Wichita Falls, Texas; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
