Dorothy Slagle, 95, of Wichita Falls, Texas formerly of Henrietta, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2013 surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Henrietta, Texas with Rev. Chris Dowd, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Henrietta, Texas, officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Henrietta under the direction of Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta, Texas.

Mrs. Slagle was born on May 9, 1917 in Jolly, Texas to Mitt and Martha (Reaves) Johnson. She married Kenneth J. Slagle on August 16, 1936 and they lived their entire married life in Henrietta where she enjoyed being a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She moved to Wichita Falls in 1998. Mrs. Slagle had been a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1936. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Kenneth Slagle in May of 1997.

Survivors include her daughter, Kennetta Beshear and husband Jerry of Wichita Falls, Texas; three grandchildren, Brandon Beshear and wife Nancy of Wichita Falls, Texas, Brady Beshear and wife Karen of Wichita Falls, Texas and Maria Galarza and husband Jose of Haslet, Texas; fourteen great-grandchildren, Josiah, Elijah, Mary Kate and Annie Beth Beshear, Ben, Emma, Zachary, Clara and Anna Grace Beshear, Jessica, Bryan and Eric Caldwell, Joey and Elizabeth Galarza.

The family will be at Davis Funeral Home on Saturday morning at 9:15AM prior to the service.

The family of Dorothy Slagle would like to thank the staff and nurses at Royal Estates in Wichita Falls, Texas where she enjoyed living since 1998 and American Hospice for the comfort and care she received since January 31, 2013.
